Highly figured Cherry with “sapwood.” Sapwood is the new growth, living tissue, of a hardwood tree, usually 2 - 3 inches in from the bark. In Cherry and some other hardwoods the sapwood is often a blonde color. We often use it in artful ways in our furniture, however if you prefer not to see any we will not include it your piece(s).
